Stats

Yesterday's visit to the doctor was fairly uneventful, apart from the 4 shots and one oral vaccine. She did great and I got a lot of questions answered. She's had a cough/runny nose for about 2 months straight and the doctor reassured me that this was normal for this time of year. The doc checked to make sure there wasn't any sign of infection in her nose, lungs and airways and she looked great apart from the runny nose. She is drooling a LOT more and we think teeth are on the horizon, especially with the way she has been sleeping the past few nights.

She weighed in at 18 lbs. and was 27" long. She's still in the 90th percentile for both categories and the doctor was impressed with how well she is sitting by herself. We also got the green light to start some new foods, including Cheerios! Yay!

Here are some pics of her "battle wounds." I LOVE the fact that they put pink camo bandaids on her every time. So cute...

Madelyn's Half-Birthday

She got a phone for her half birthday from us. She loves her Baby Legs, Auntie Em!

I think she wishes she had a camera of her own. "Hey, mom, what's that thing? Can I put it in my mouth?"

Ready for her close-up! Complete with drool on her chin...

Not quite crawling yet.

For Uncle Ryan

Madelyn loves her penguin now that she can sit up better. We're working on it with her along with her daycare teachers. She's pretty close. She can sit by herself for a little while, but as soon as her focus changes, she tips over.

What a week!

So, not many posts this week. Madelyn has had some bad reactions to her antibiotic and (knock on wood) is over them. I figured you didn't want to see any pictures of us covered in puke, so I decided to wait until things settled down. I guess I didn't know babies could puke so much. Thankfully, she doesn't ever get upset when she does it and I think she almost thinks it has its advantages since it means she gets a bath. Usually if anyone is upset by the puking, it's me. It's a shocking sight, not to mention I have that worry that she won't stay hydrated. However, she's fine and we're enjoying a three day weekend. Too bad Jonathan has to work on Monday.

In the process of washing the bed linens today, these three were hanging out watching me in the bathroom:

We're trying to get all of the animals used to Madelyn so that when crawling starts, they won't have too negative of a reaction to it. Gracie always likes Madelyn.

Laughing

This is a test. I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out this new video camera and the software that comes with it. I'm usually pretty tech and computer savvy, but apparently this thing is teaching me a thing or two.

Christmas Day

So, I'm a little behind in posting these. I'll keep the blog minimal and let you enjoy the photos. I'm working on posting some new video from our new video camera. Stay tuned!

Madelyn with her jumpy. Santa and Mrs. Claus said they had a tough time putting it together!

After a brief morning nap, she was ready to play. I love going in to get her up. She always smiles like this.

She had played so much and slept so little that she fell asleep sitting next to Jonathan. It was pretty sweet.

Our Christmas meal. Pretty simple, although I neglected to take a photo of the peanut butter and chocolate fudge I made. Thanks Grandmother for the Christmas dishes!
